Use USB 3.0 without upgrading your machine

You read that pretty correctly. And I do not mean that you use some kind of magical driver which will help your USB 2.0 port shell out speed that matches with that of USB 3.0. There isn’t any such software available yet! What we discuss here is the newly launched Seagate adapter which can use your ExpressCard slot to convert it to USB 3.0.

Henceforth, you will end up using the much faster (when compared to USB 3.0) USB service without even upgrading your hardware to the new technology, USB 3.0. But, why will you want to use Seagate’s adapter when you don’t have any device that requires USB 3.0? The answer is simple; Seagate has launched its new set of hard disk drives namely GoFlex which are fast and henceforth worth buying. After all, USB 3.0 is 10 times faster than USB 2.0 and why will you want to miss out on such a furious device?
The Seagate adapter will use the existing USB 2.0 for its power using its own power connecter. Though the set up might not look as good as you expect considering the fact that it has a power cord to drag power out of your laptop’s USB 2.0 port and another cord to jack into your ExpressCard slot. But, who cares, until and unless you get 10 times faster speed for your daily operations.
The USB 3.0 upgrade kit can be bought for $80 and the Seagate drives will range between $140 to $190.
